Japanese woman tried to put out the Olympic flame in protest against the Games in Tokyo

The resident of Japan during the relay of the Olympic flame protested against the Olympic Games — 2020 in Tokyo, informs Daily Mail.

The 53-year-old woman waited until the torchbearer approached her and then released a jet from a water pistol at the flames while shouting the phrases, “The end of the Olympics!” After the incident, the woman was arrested.

The games were supposed to be held in Tokyo from July 23 to August 8, 2021, but were postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The opening ceremony of the Olympics is scheduled for July 23, 2021, and the closing ceremony will take place on August 8.

Due to the threat of the spread of the disease, the decision was made to hold the Olympic events without foreign spectators. On June 21, a limit of ten thousand people was set for the admission of local spectators, and the occupancy of the venues during the competitions should not exceed 50%. At the same time, if the epidemiological situation worsens, the restrictions can be tightened.
