Trump's employee will testify against him in fraud case
The head of security for former U.S. President Donald Trump's company, Matthew Calamari Jr. has decided to testify against him in a fraud case. This was reported by CNN.
Calamari is the son of Matthew Calamari Sr. who was Trump's personal bodyguard for many years before becoming the Trump Organization's chief operating officer. He is believed to be a member of the former president's inner circle.
According to the publication's sources, Trump's former employee was summoned by New York Attorney Cyrus Vance. The security chief has agreed to do so and is expected to appear before a grand jury in New York on Thursday, September 2.
That said, Calamari Sr. has not been formally summoned to testify. U.S. media, however, believe that investigators have repeatedly tried to do so.
In July, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office filed charges against the Trump Organization, which manages the assets of former U.S. President Donald Trump. The indictment includes 15 counts, including tax fraud, criminal conspiracy, falsification of business records, and grand larceny.
