The head of the CIA answered the question about the origin of the coronavirus
The US authorities have not yet come to a final conclusion about the origin of the coronavirus. This was stated by CIA Director William Burns in an interview with US National Public Radio.
The journalists asked Burns what the CIA believes is the probability that the pandemic could be the result of a coronavirus leak from a laboratory in Wuhan.
“The honest answer today is that we cannot offer a final conclusion as to whether it arose due to an abnormal situation in the laboratory or<...> by natural transmission from infected animals to humans. We are working hard, “ Burns replied.
The head of US intelligence added that the Chinese authorities initially did not cooperate fully with the investigation of the World Health Organization.
“And recently there was a hint that it [the Chinese government] also intends to refuse to cooperate at further stages. This is very unfortunate, “ the head of the CIA said, adding that the world community may not be able to find out the origin of COVID-19.
Earlier it was reported that China refused to cooperate with the WHO at the second stage of the investigation into the origin of Sars-CoV-2. Beijing accused the WHO of “political posturing” and said that the virus originated naturally, a person contracted it from an animal.
